![]() ![]() The original treatment for the video was loosely based on the 1995 Nicolas Cage film, Leaving Las Vegas, and would have seen Britney take an overdose, surrounded by pill bottles. According to MTV, 'Everytime' was originally meant to see Britney attempt to take her own life in the bathtub. While the finished product touches on themes of life, death and rebirth, the original concept for the video was also weirdly close to the bone. There's even a massive poster for "Britney Spears: Live in Las Vegas". Spears would be vehemently hounded by the press and paparazzi just years later, and wheeled out on a stretcher for the world to see. This is, we guess, partly due to the prophetic nature of the video it scarily predicted the way Ms. ![]() Directed by David LaChapelle, 'Everytime' is one of those Britney videos that lingers with you well after the four minutes are up. ![]()
